10”x10” 3D Printed Stamp

Custom Clothing Brand Stamp for Korean Culture Influencer @kenjikundesu

Scope: Create the largest stamp that is 3D printable. Flexible material to allow for stamping on slightly irregular surfaces such as rough sidewalks and asphalt. Custom wooden handle to be made by @kenjikundesu

I loved this project because it tested the limits of my resin 3D printer to see how large I could print. I decided on printing it in quarters so that the stamp was easily visible on sidewalks and I used flexible rubber like resin to allow for conforming just enough to uneven surfaces.

I was provided an image and used it to create the CAD model for the dimensions of the stamp. After back and forth with Kenji, we both agreed that 10”x10” would work the best and I got working to start fabricating.

I fabricated all prototypes and iterations, along with the final product. I created mini prototypes to choose the proper resin. I wanted to print all 4 pieces of the stamp at once on the build plate, but that made it so I could not angle the prints. Although this caused some deformation at the edges, the time loss from printing each one individually would have been worse. I also wanted to minimize any pock marks from supports. I hand glued the parts with the same resin, sanded all of it to a single uniform shape, and tested it out with some paint.

Overall, it looked great and Kenji was blown away! I included additional mini stamps as a gift so that he could use them for other brand-related items.
